Discipleship is the key to ministry. To begin discipleship, it first starts with the relationship we have with Jesus. The past several weeks, we have been learning about how to grow in our relationship with Jesus and to be able to live out our faith in public with victory, instead of feeling like walking in defeat.
A discipleship program begins with a relationship and the most important relationship is the one with Jesus. Jesus invites us to come and learn from Him to win. That is why Jesus stated in Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Jesus desires us to come to Him, so He can communicate with us and teach us how to thrive.
He wants us to trust Him and follow His game plan, His playbook: The Bible for our life.
There are several disciplines in God's Playbook that help us grow in our faith so we can navigate a victorious Christian life in this world. Several we have already looked at...
Reading (Memorization, Meditation, Repetition) of the Scriptures
How are you doing in these 3 areas right now?
Are you scheduling time to set aside to pray (communicate with Jesus)?
Are you taking a moment to allow the word of God to transform your life? The Bible will renew your mind (Romans 12:1-2), God's word will provide the nourishment you need (Psalm 1, John 6), and you will find peace as you meditate on His word day and night.
Take the time to today to set up a plan to read your Bible. Invite your family to gather together and pray and read the bible together. Take steps in your personal devotion with God and discover public victory as your faith grows and deepens in Jesus. As you draw near to Jesus, He will draw near to you (James 4:8).
This past week, we made available a board game to play with your family and friends. It's a Bible Board game created so that you can take an Adventure in God's Word together. If you would like one, please contact us or ask the next time you are on campus. We would love for you to get the opportunity to grow in the Word of God in a fun and dynamic way.

This Sunday, we will continue in another Discipline to focus on as we follow God's Playbook for our life that we need to practice: The area of finance. This will be a great opportunity to learn how to trust God with the resources He has given to us. Read Proverbs 3:5-12 to prepare.
Let's take this time together to grow in our relationship with Jesus. If you need prayer, let us know, we would love to pray with you and for you.
Can't wait to see you Sunday,
Because of Jesus,
