A dear friend and prayer warrior is with Jesus: Marcus Eads

Hope City family,

I wanted to inform you about some very sad news concerning our dear friend and elder Marcus Eads.

Monday morning he went home to be with Jesus.

He was reading his bible and collapsed suddenly of a heart attack.

The hope we have and the comfort God has given to us is Jesus and that is where Marcus is right now; in heaven with Jesus. Yet, we understand how difficult this is to discover. He served the gathering well. He prayed faithfully for people and with them extensively as a servant here at Hope City and his presence will greatly be missed.

As soon as we find out about the memorial service date and time, I will let the congregation know.

As for right now, please be in prayer for Marcus' wife Kelli and their four children.

Marcus loved reading God's word and it was exactly what he was doing when he came home to be with Jesus. He was reading Psalm 61 and his final prayer were these words...

Psalm 61:1-2a

Hear my cry, O God,

Listen to my prayer;

From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint.

Lead me to the Rock...

And that is what happened. He was led straight to the Rock of our salvation. Jesus! Marcus loved Jesus and this church immensely.

He prayed for all of us weekly. I can't wait to see him again one day. Until then, we wait and be encouraged to know our Savior is holding him in His arms.

I will update the church when a memorial service is provided.

Because of Jesus,

Pastor Joshua
