The Background
We are beginning a new study in the book of Daniel called Daniel: Life in Babylon. Daniel had to determine not fall victim to the ways of worshiping other gods like those in Babylon, but he made a decision to follow his God, who we know as Jesus. He always sought council from God and would praise Him even in the midst of unpleasant circumstances. Daniel discovered the power found in prayer and that everyone should come boldly to the throne of grace, because our God listens and responds when we pray.
We have determined 21 days of fasting and praying because as we believe our attention will be focused on God when we determine and decide not to eat for certain periods of time. The time and effort normally spent cooking and eating can be spent on prayer or reading God's word. The hunger will serve as a reminder to pray. It will stay on the forefront of your mind. Daniel prayed for 21 days to seek clarity on a vision he had from God and it wasn't until 21 days of fasting and praying that he would receive and answer. He found out that there was a spiritual battle happening and through his persistence in prayer, by the grace of God breakthrough happened spiritually.
Our Purpose
We desire to see God open up the flood gates for spiritual renewal, to see an awakening for each person, for our church to be ready to receive what God is doing in our community for people to discover Hope in Jesus, for our upcoming Good Friday and Easter services to have a huge impact on all who watch online and are in person, and to quite honestly... to be in step with Jesus as He leads our church.
Join us as we fast and pray together as we pray with and for one another beginning Monday, February 22nd. Click Here to sign up and register.
